Kim Dongjun

Accounting Officer, KJ Planning , Japan

As an accounting officer at KJ Planning, I am mainly in charge of checking the flow of funds between each group company, thereby confirming and reporting that each group company is operating properly. In addition, the management of KJ Planning staff is also my duty.

What attracted you compared to other companies?

After coming to Japan, I had been interviewed by various companies. At this company, I felt something fresh because I was asked totally different kind of questions instead of the same old interviews. When I was interviewed by the director, he told me that they are merely a new venture, but they want to grow up with the staff instead of just expanding their business. I felt this company was something different, so I decided to join the team.

What do you value when you work?

I’m in charge of accounting, so I think the most important thing is to not make any mistakes. Making mistakes can hinder the work of all the group companies and cause a lot of trouble for other staff, so I try to work without making a single mistake even if it means I work a little bit slow.

What do you want to challenge through your work?

Because this was my first job in an accounting department, I felt very scared of managing money without any accounting knowledge. However, I was able to work on my own shortly after my boss and seniors carefully taught me. Now, I am studying to get a bookkeeping qualification to help me get better understanding of my duty and preparing to obtain a money lending manager license in the future.

How do you balance work and private life?

In my private time, I’m relaxing at home. I lie down in bed and watch movies or study for the bookkeeping qualification. When I’m at work, I am very focused and I try not to make any mistakes, which can make me quite nervous. I think that makes me quite an indoor person!
